Watson, John B. "Psychology as the Behaviorist Views It." The Psychological Review 20 (March 1913): 158-77.

Classic statement of the Behaviorist view that "the prediction and control of behavior" is "psychology's sole task." See also JBW, Psychology from the Standpoint of a Behaviorist (1919), and his work for lay readers, Behaviorism (1924, 1925; rev. edn. 1930). JBW's name is preserved and much of his philosophy followed in the World State of A. Huxley's Brave New World (q.v., under Fiction).[1] See this Category, the entry for B. F. Skinner.[2]
