Underwater ALIEN (film), or a big-screen, full-length Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea[1] episode with strong women and better production values. See for ambiguous containment within a highly mechanized environment: the underwater vehicles, habitats, and diving suit are necessary protection but become traps when the monster attacks. The final sequence shows a highly positive (and highly derivative) release from containment into the open air. (Caution: Do not depend upon this film for details about decompression.)
