DESPICABLE ME. Pierre Coffin and Chris Renaud, dir. Ken Daurio and Cinco Paul, script, from Sergio Pablos's story. Yarrow Cheney, production design. USA: Ilumination Entertainment (prod.) / Universal Studios, Toho-Towa, UPI (dist. [see IMDb for details]), 2010. 95 minutes.

Well-received animation feature, relevant here for design for paraphernalia and mise-en-scene for the redeemed villain Gru (voiced by Steve Carell) and the antagonist villain, Vector (voiced by Jason Segel). Generally, aging Gru gets post-modern-ish, "Industrial" (and polluting) vehicles, weapons, and miscellaneous devices — and an old house to live in — while young-threat Vector's are smooth, clean-lined and thoroughly Modern(ist).
