Last sequence relevant: in a human world that has gone through the industrial era, post-industrial man finds himself at a computer, then physically taken over by the computer (putting cables into him); we then see that post-industrial, possibly po-mo man is multiplied into post-industrial people, like Modern workers in huge offices, but imaged instead as a "cube farm" (in 1990s slang): many, many cubicles, each inhabited by a cyberneticized person.
