An original character from DC's Milestone Comics imprint, he first appeared in Hardware #1 (February 1993) [...]."[2] Metcalf is an inventor, "who, in his Hardware identity, uses a variety of high-tech gadgets to fight organised crime," including powered armor,[3] for which compare and contrast the armor and its uses in Starship Troopers, The Forever War, Forever Peace, IRON MAN, and Ripley in an exoskeleton fighting the Alien Queen in ALIENS.
