LA POUPÉE (THE DOLL). Jacques Baratier, director, producer. Jacques Audiberti, novel and script.[1] France/Italy: Films Franco-Africains et al. (production) / Gaston Hakim International (US distribution, subtitled), 1962. See IMDb for details of production and distribution. [2] In French.

IMDb describes the film as "An avant-garde political satire that takes place in a mythical country in South America. The dictator has been replaced by a look-alike revolutionary, and the dictator's wife has been replaced by a robot."[3] The film may be placed in the series "The Sandman," COPPÉLIA, La poupée — but it is definitely a variation on this theme.
