STAR TREK. J.J. Abrams, dir., one of seven producers. Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, script (AK also one of three exec. prod.), based on Gene Roddenberry's TV series Star Trek. Bad Robot, Paramount, and Spyglass (prod.) / Paramount (USA dist.), 2009 (see IMDb for further distribution information[1]. Scott Chambliss, production design.


The Enterprise is almost entirely its beautifully classic, Modernist self, with most of the works of the Federation Modernist, with Futurist streamlining. Contrast the pomo and Industrial look of the enemy Romulan things we see, especially — with perhaps squid suggestions — Nero's spaceship; for the spaceship cf. and contrast the Nostromo in Ridley Scott's ALIEN (film) and the Sulaco in Cameron and Hurd's ALIENS (film).
