So see for possibility for healing on the holodeck/in the holosuite but also danger of a kind of addiction.
Covered briefly in Anna L. Kaplan's "Deep Space Nine Season Seven Episode Guide," Cinefantastique 32.4/5 (December 2000): 50. Kaplan notes that Vic "slowly weans Nog off the cane" he has been using "but finally has to turn off his own program to get Nog back into the real world. [...] Nog understands, and repays the favor" from Vic "by arranging to leave Vic running all the time."
