Warrick, Patricia S. The Cybernetic Imagination in Science Fiction. Cambridge, MA: MIT P, 1980.

A study of some 225 works of fiction from 1930 to 1977. Includes a very useful biblio. of nonfiction works. Rpts. with some variations PSW, "Images of the Man-Machine Intelligence Relationship," q.v. in this Category; "A Science Fiction Aesthetic," Pacific Quarterly 4.3 (July 1979); and two essays on P. K. Dick. Helpfully brings together PSW's work on I. Asimov and Dick, adding some comments on S. Lem. For TCI's limitations, see rev. by Dagmar Barnouw, SFS #24, 8.2 (July 1981): 215-17.
