Cooper, Brenda. The Glittering Edge Diptych (or Duology or Series): Edge of Dark (Amherst, NY: Pyr, 2015); Spear of Light (Amherst, NY: Pyr, 2016).[1] As of May 2021, advertised by Simon and Schuster.[2]

From the blurb: "The Glittering Edge duology describes the clash of forces when an advanced society that has filled a solar system with flesh and blood life meets the near-AI’s that it banished long ago. This is a story of love for the wild and natural life on a colony planet, complex adventure set in powerful space stations, and the desire to live completely whether you are made of flesh and bone or silicon and carbon fiber."[3]

Discussed by Damien Broderick in Consciousness and Science Fiction; see chapter 11.

Spear of Light reviewed by Bill Dynes, SFRA Review #318 (Fall 2016): pp. 28-30,[4] who concludes, "The novel will perhaps be of most interest to those exploring the intersection of SF and eco-literature, although studies of robots, cyborgs, and post- humanism will also find this novel relevant" (p. 29).
