From the Fandom Plot summary: Middle Tobin teenage son[2] "Ham starts performing" as a musician "at Yet-E-Cheddar's and develops a strange relationship with an animatronic Freddie the Yeti, that puts his relationship with Crispin in jeopardy."[3]

Freddie is called "robot" and "animatronic robot," giving us Ham as a gay human (cartoon) character tempted into a variety of fantasy relationship with a clockwork, mechanical (cybernetic, etc.) Other Man/folklore beast (and fellow musician), shaking his relationship with his high-school steady boyfriend.
