Important for AI. Features "synsects" (articifial insects), a creation of microchip technology. Because they operate individually and as a swarm, the synsects render obsolete all other forms of warfare. Synsects represent artificial nonintelligence, or artifical instinct, the real new wave (SL suggests) of the computerized future. Rev. Gerald Jones, in "Attack of the Killer Synsects," The New York Times Book Review 9 Feb. 1986. See also, SL's Fiasco and Invincible.
