TRANSFORMERS [2]: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN. Michael Bay, dir. and exec. prod. USA: DreamWorks (prod. and US dist.), with Paramount and Di Bonaventura Pictures, in association with Hasbro [the toy manufacturer], 2009 (see IMDb for complex dist. outside USA). Nigel Phelps, prod. design.

Kids flick, significant here for the various Transformers: Autobots and, so to speak, a major «truckbot», a Decepticon «fatal co-ed», villainous robot characters with faces resembling the Alien of the initial ALIEN movie and the Predator of PREDATOR, and Decepticons that appear insectoid, feline, reptilian, and maybe snake-like (although that may be an Alienoid tail). CAUTION: US MPAA rating of PG-13 is justified by clearly-heard taboo words, some possibly gay canine humping, and the suggestion that US President Barack Obama isn't really running the military — or government — he heads; it's unclear, though, whether the movie should be enjoyed by people older than thirteen (although Megan Fox's Mikaela Banes is worth seeing by straight males and lesbians: very attractive and improbably "well-kempt" throughout, almost a parody of the stereotypical action-film heroine); see Metacritic for reviews <>).
